🥔 All Things Potato

Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 24, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information the All Things Potato iOS app (the “App”) collects, how it’s used, and what choices you have. We aim for the shortest possible policy: most of your data never leaves your device.

Short version: the App stores your saved recipes, cooked history, points, collections, notes, and shopping list on your iPhone. If you subscribe to Premium and are signed into iCloud, that same data is synced to your personal iCloud account so it’s available across your devices. We do not run our own analytics; we do not sell your data; we have no idea who you are.

1. What we collect and where it’s stored

1.1 Stored only on your device

These live in your device’s local storage. Deleting the App removes all of this data from your device.

1.2 Stored in your personal iCloud (Premium only)

If you have an active Premium subscription and are signed into iCloud, the same data is synchronized through Apple’s CloudKit service to your private iCloud database. We do not have access to it — only you and Apple do. Disabling iCloud, signing out, or canceling Premium stops the sync.

1.3 What we deliberately do not collect

2. Third-party services we use

2.1 Google AdMob (free users)

Free users see banner, native, and full-screen ads, plus optional rewarded ads. AdMob is a Google service; Google may collect a device advertising identifier (IDFA) only if you grant permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. Saying no still serves ads — they’ll just be less personalized.

Read Google’s privacy practices at policies.google.com/privacy and AdMob’s SDK details at support.google.com/admob.

2.2 Apple StoreKit (in-app purchases & subscriptions)

All purchases — the Remove Ads one-time IAP and the Premium subscription — are handled by Apple’s StoreKit. We never see your payment information. We only receive a yes/no signal that an entitlement is active.

2.3 Apple CloudKit (Premium iCloud sync)

Sync is handled by Apple’s CloudKit using your personal iCloud account. We don’t operate a separate user database. Apple’s privacy terms apply to that storage.

2.4 All Things Potato recipe API

The App fetches recipes from our backend at api.allthingspotato.com. The request itself is anonymous — we don’t attach any user identifier to it. Standard server logs may briefly record IP addresses for routine operations and abuse prevention; they aren’t cross- referenced to any user account because no account exists.

3. App Tracking Transparency (ATT)

iOS will ask you once, the first time you opt into a rewarded ad, whether you want to allow tracking. Allowing tracking improves ad relevance and our ad revenue; denying it has no effect on the App’s features — ads still serve, just non-personalized. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

4. Your rights and choices

5. Children

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Because we don’t require accounts and don’t track identity, the App generally has no idea who you are — but if you’re a parent and have concerns about your child’s use, please contact us.

6. Changes to this policy

If we materially change what data we collect or who we share it with, we’ll update this page and bump the “Last updated” date at the top. For minor wording fixes we may update silently. If you’re worried about missing a change, the App’s Privacy link always opens the current version.
